Acres Designer Update 2.15.25

Wow! So much going on this update. I am officially going to BGGcon 2025 to launch the Crowd Funding Campaign and sell some convention copies of the game! In addition to going, The Game Crafter company has agreed to sponsor me and help me show off their products. My goal leading up to the convention is to sell the expansion to Acres at a 40% discount to help drive traffic to the website and game. The expansion will include the game board above and the wooden trucks pictured throughout the play test images. This is a big change because I want people to have trucks in the base game but ultimately it was best for price and to give more reason to purchase the expansion at a discount.

For the game, the last two weeks have all been about planning marketing and advertising strategy while I wait for playtest feedback. Currently, I really like the idea to partner with Team Trees (Arbor Day Foundation) to donate a dollar of every sale that will plant a tree. The slogan would be, "Buy a game, plant a tree". This is a significant cost as my margins are already low but I think it would be a good act and a good marketing strategy. I have also finished the current draft for the game page. This is the current board. I have a texture over the painting which hopefully adds a bit of artificial wear on the game. Instead of toying with the giant money path, I have added a spot where if you are in the 0-100 dollars range, your quality of wood is that of "Chip Board" and it increases in quality each lap you make around the money track. I have also added a few sketch-art animals to add flavor to the game. The squirrels are also going to add a small catch-up mechanic for the next playtest.
